Start with the model.

  • Cell or biochemical research can explore mechanisms.
  • Ex-vivo or in-vitro skin work can study transport under controlled conditions.
  • Animal or observational research may answer different questions from topical human use.
  • Controlled human studies can be more directly relevant, but only within their design and population.

Then inspect the endpoint.

A measured change in a lab marker is not the same as a visible appearance outcome. A participant questionnaire is not the same as an instrument measurement. Both can be informative, but they answer different questions.

Finally, check product match.

The closer the tested formula, route, dose, schedule, and population are to the real product and use case, the more relevant the evidence may be. If those details differ, describe the evidence as background rather than proof.
